Documents require to purchase room in chawl?

Respected Sir,

I am planning buy a room in chawl.

Can you please advice me. What documents I should look If Chawl is registered,and also if it is not registered?

in chawl case you wont have agreement for sale duly stamped and registered .

most of agreement are on rs 100 stamp paper . you will find that seller has not stamped agreement properly nor is it registered .

rooms exchange hands on basis of notarised agreement
