Domicile certificate - uttrakhand

(Querist) 23 May 2012 This query is : Resolved
I am a bonafide resident of uttrakhand and upon applying for domicile certificate, it was found that my father and grandfather have variations in their names in property documents/ration cards etc and both of them are not alive. For this reason, the domicile certificate is not issued.

Could you please give your expert opinion regarding any legal remedy available for this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Have u resided in Uttarakhand for the minimum period prescribed under law for getting the certificate? If so u should apply for the certificate on the basis of ur own residence in the State. If u have not stayed in the state for the above period, I am afraid u will not be eligible for the certificate only on the basis of certain property standing in the name of ur father or GF.

you can not get domicile if u have not stayed there.
