PAISAME HAI PARATMA.YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BACK,BUT YOU DON'T WANT TO HURT HIM.AAPKI DOSTI KO SALAAM KARNA HAI.
If you want to get back your money, trace him immediately and demand your money, otherwise send him a legal notice for the cheque bounce.

If verbal requests does not yield any result then you have to file a suit for recovery of money subject to your choice.

Dear Querist
you have both the choice, Civil and criminal, you can choose as per your feelings, if you want file a criminal case against him, first of all search him/trace him, send a legal notice, if he is enable to pay your money within stipulated time, you can file a criminal complaint against him u/s 138 NI act,
if you are not ready to do this you can file a civil suit for recovery against him and get a decree against him.
feel free to call
