Hi team,
I have been married for 1 year 4 months. There were few demands from my in-laws like land and my salary, etc. When me n my parents refused to do so, they never allowed me to stay with my husband. now after a big fight I could stay with him from past few months. I faced physical and mental harassment several times. Now we could file a case in women's org. But my husband and his family was preparing for 498a from long back.
My question is if in case I file Dowry case on them, can they get AB even before I file it. or is there any other way I can put them in jail. b'cos my FIL is very influential and can even escape with whole family.
Please advice me.

file case under domestic violence act .
if you file 498A they will get anticpatory bail after filing of FIR .
is the streedhan in your posession ?
dont file 498 A only for harassment of your husband and in laws . it can back fire and ruin any chances of reconcilation
consult a local lawyer

1. AB is right of accused person(s).
2. Your side can only oppose Bail pleas but granting Bail is merit based.

Thanks for the reply.
I have been trying for reconciliation, but nothing seems to be working.in back I have been beaten many times. They even asked me to sign a bond telling that incase if they go for divorce I shall not be eligible for any compensation. the gold and silver given in my wedding are with them. Infact my FIL had spoken local SI and police dint even help us.

if you have been beaten did you file any police complaint of the same ? any doctor certifcate?

yes. my parents lodged a complaint in women's org as I was in his house.then a team from women's org came with police and rescued me after that there was a round of counselling. I have got MLC as well. my wounds are still fresh.

I also agree with Mr. Sethi Sir, dont go for 498a it will really loss the chance of reconciliation better try to live jointly with conciliation of local lawyers
