Dues payable to a removed bank officer

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 15 September 2010 This query is : Resolved
Dear All,
I joined Punjab National Bank as an officer and rose up to senior manager (scale III). I was removed from bank service with following punishment:
"Removal from bank service which shall not be a disqualification for further employment."

I want to know what are the dues payable to me. I put in 21 years in bank service and opted for pension.
I shall be grateful for the reply? Thanks in advance.

Being a Bank officer myself, I request you to kindly take up the matter with your Association people who would guide you correctly as details of your case matter is not fully apprised in this forum. Interpretation of a single clause of OSR will not suffice the matter queried.

As stated by Expert Mr. Parthasarathi Loganathan, you have not come out with the entire particulars. No Bank will give a one line order. And removal from service after 21 years of services means it cannot be with a one line sentence. So come out with the details, if you need further help or else contact the respective Bank associations.

To my understanding 20 years' service is the minimum to be entitled to Pensionary benefits, generally;

1. Removal shall not be a dis-qualification for future employment.
2. It is a major penalty without any settlement benefits
3. A removed employee is eligible for his personal savings like PF, earned leave, etc
4. As such, it is advised to appeal/ represent through officer association for reversion/reduction of penalty

Removal does not affect the terminal benefits as in case of dismissal. So subject to your fulfilling other requisite criteria of length of service etc u would be eligible for all benefits.
