Effect of compounding on co-accused of charge u/s 500 ipc

Hello,

I kind of vaguely remember reading somewhere that if the complainant compounds an offense u/s 500 of IPC against any one accused, then automatically such compounding works on other co-accused. Can anyone clarify please?
