Effect of IPC section on career

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 27 June 2019 This query is : Resolved
Hi All,

I have been charged with IPC sections 279 and 338. What will be the consequences if I decide to plead guilty and pay the fine. Will it affect my career in any way. I am employed by an MNC. Will they terminate my job ? Also, will it affect in my future career endeavors with private and government organizations?

Generally it do not affect career of an employee since it do not involve any moral turpitude and you have been charged/ convicted/ sentenced with the offence(s) of rash and negligent driving and the victim suffered grievous injuries.
Consult your lawyer who is better equipped with facts of the case, an able, competent and intelligent enough to satisfy your question(s). If you are not satisfied with the performance or behaviour or lost faith in your lawyer change him/her immediately.

Such traffic offences could be settled by pleading guilty; there need not be adverse impact on current job or prospects of future employment.
