Election process in mum chs

Hi,
Our MC completes its 5 yr term this year. Pl guide us on how we shd go about conducting the elections for the new committee. Is it that the members elect for committee members and then the committee elects the chairman, secretary and treasurer?
Our society member strength is 51

bye laws of society provide detailed procedure to be followed for election of MC . Ideally, one must start the process about two months before the end of the existing managing committee's term. The latter is expected to compile a list of members who are eligible to vote, which needs to be put up on the notice board 60 days before the election. Thereafter, the committee must appoint a returning officer to oversee the election. The returning officer cannot be someone who is contesting the election or supporting a candidate.
