Employee working on a national holiday

Dear Sir,

An employee while working on a national holiday will be paid overtime.
However, is it necessary for the company to give a compensatory of
for working on a nation holiday ( 10 declared holiday ).

January 26- Republic Day, August 15- Independence Day, October 2- Gandhi Jayanti are national holidays…
Rest holidays in your establishment might be festival holidays…
Hope needful for prior intimation and approval is done..

You may start from going thru The National & Festival Holidays Act and then provisions in enactments applicable to establishment in your state…
There should be well defined provision of double wages/compensatory off for employees that have worked on National Holidays and other holidays…..amounting to 10 in your establishment as per your post.
