Can a victim engage his counsel in a criminal case ? Is there any limitation on the role of that counsel ?

Which are the sections of Cr.P.C. under which this can be done ?

Any case laws on the subject may please be indicated.

Any reason with the author of the question in favour of not engaging a counsel to defend himself by the victim in criminal case? It is a matter of commonsense even.

Why for everything caselaws are desired when provisions of law are mostly clear in several aspects?

it is our fundamental right that a person shall engage a lawyer of his choice and in tis case the victim is provided with the public prosecutor then there is no need to appoint extra lawyer if the party is sound than they can and in this matter no case law is required the layer engaged shall work in assistance of the public prosecutor.

The Magistrate is bound to ask the victim regarding the legal assistance in the first hearing itself.
