This query is : Resolved
I am a law graduate from Delhi Univ. I am not on the rolls of any Bar council as I am in Govt. service and cannot get enrolled. I want to know whether there is any way I can keep in touch with law and legal practice while on this job.I also want to know whether there is any age bar for registration in Bar councils?
1. as you are a goverment employee you cannot enrol yourself in bar council as an advocate 2.ther is no age bar for securing an advocate licence, even after your retirement you can join as an advocate.
3.for keeping yourself informed you can also practice drafting ,and read recent judgements which will be useful as a tool to understand complex legal issues

Dear Manmeet, Thanks for your reply. Actually I was apprehensive a bit as I had heard of some kind of age bar for enrolling as an advocate in Delhi Bar Council.
Thanks again

well this issue was raised before the bar and they are saying that any one above 45 would not be entitled to enrolled in bar but this issue was kept away for while and there is no age bar for registration.

At the Bar Council, they may not object your age but they may examine your hearing and communication ability after your retirment.
