Dear Sir,
I have erected a wooden cabin in my shop in Mumbai without the permission of landlord. Is erecting wooden cabin and wooden partition requires permission?
The landlord has sent a notice to allow inspection and take photographs of the same.
Can you please advise whether erecting wooden partition and wooden cabin (without permission) can give the landlord the right to send us the notice for eviction?

Was there any condition between your and land lord that " if you want to do any alteration or errction prior permission of the land laord is required", if not land lord cannot issue a notice to you. Moreover ist is an office, it requires to look likfe an office, you cannot sit in open room. Convince the land lard.

The agreement is very old(30 years back). And there is no condition for that. But he has sent a letter in which he stated that you have constructed illegal wooden partition, so allow him to inspect the same.
He will be also bringing with him the officials from BMC to inspect. So should this be a problem? Will they get the right to evict uS?

No condition is required in the lease deed, if you have done structural changes without permission of the lessor then you are liable to notice and eviction.

I agree Vishal. But a wooden partition is considered as structural changes?
