Hi,
Can someone guide me as to whether there is a law relating to resale of event tickets (say theatre, sporting event tickets) in India?
I would like to purchase tickets in bulk and sell them further. For example, buy 100 tickets for IPL and sell it further.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

purchase in bulk and reselling it would be black marketing . it is avilable for sale to individuals .

GENERAL IPL TICKET TERMS & CONDITIONS ARE:
1. This ticket must be produced by the holder of the ticket at the time of entry into the Stadium. The entry gates will open 3 hours before the start of the Match.
2. Entry will be refused if the barcode has been tampered with or if the ticket has been defaced or damaged or tampered with in any way.
3. Each entry ticket is valid for one person only and no re-entry will be allowed.
4. The ticket only entitles the holder to access the area of the Stadium in which the relevant seat is located and no other area of the Stadium.
5. The ticket should be produced whenever demanded by the organiser of the match and the Organiser representatives.
6. The Organiser reserves the right to search / frisk the Holder at any time for security reasons.
GENERALLY THEY ARE NON TRANSFERABLE TO AVOID BLACK MARKETING.

Thanks for your opinion. However, I wanted to know which law defines black marketing? For example, there are concierge services that purchase tickets for their clients and sell them. How is this allowed?

better to consult IPL authorities for resale because they have allotted selected outlets to sale the tickets

No reselling at inflated price is permissible.
Moreover the tickets can be sold only from the authroised stall or agents. No other person can sell the tickets even on same price on commercial basis.
