Section 138 of N.I.Act

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 27 August 2010 This query is : Resolved
Dear Freinds,

There is recent judgement by the Supreme Court that if the cheque is bounced on account of reasons 'account blocked' then Section 138 of N.I. Act is not attracted. Can some help in by giving details of the judgement?
Advocate. Arunagiri (Expert) 04 December 2010
No need for any judgment. The act it self is very clear that only when the cheque is bounced for insufficient fund, 138 is attracted. If the account is blocked, there is a chance that the account is having sufficient funds.
