Carrying laptop in trial court ?

Guest (Querist) 31 August 2010 This query is : Resolved
I suggested to my advocate that why not carry our laptop(turned on with opened up the relevant documents) in the trial court room.

So that we could easily read the relevant paragraphs from petition/reply/rejoinder etc.,whenever needed in the argumentation.

But my advocate said that this is not permissible in the court room .

Is he right,please suggest?

strange to know that Lappys are not allowed in court rooms, we dont face any such problem here in Punjab.

in HC also few lawyers have been using the same quite often.

Usage of laptops is admissible even in medical profession. It must be allowed even in Court rooms to enhance the value of arguments put forth. Hours of court time will be saved. Even a simple Powerpoint presentation by an advocate would amount to hundred days of fruitless arguments.

Our law didn't mentioned anything about labtops.. We are carrying our mobile phones to court hall.. Like that without disturb court's work we can use our lab tops..
