Revision of agreement with tenant

(Querist) 09 December 2014 This query is : Resolved
My tenant is staying in my house from last 8 years. He is interested to buy the same.
I want to sell this house over 1-2 years once I get good property in another city (where I am staying). I have a home loan of Rs 20 L. Now I need to revise the rent agreement and register the same. Till now this year I have not registered the agreement. For safety I want to Register it.
I have asked him to address proof as permanent address. He told me all his voted id, passport, PAN card has my house address, since he is staying here last 8 years.

Can I register tenant's address as my house address?

"Mr. A a tenant who's address is ..my house address".

Regards
Chandra

1. Ask him about the address he or his father etc used to stay before he had become the tenants. No need of proof. Just record it where you want to do so.

thx Rohit,
He use to stay in rent only before in another house, now he has changed address in all documents my house.Father mother also use to stay with him.
He has a house in Selam, can I mention address of that house. But he said no address proof for his house.

You may record his previous address in the address column, however since this is going to be a renewal of the previous rental agreement, you can go by the previous agreement's address itself.

As advised by expert Shri Kalaiselvan, the address shown in the previous unregistered agreement can be shown in the proposed agreement to maintain continuity. Even otherwise, there is no harm to mention address of your house as "residing at....".
