Water issue in a cooperative society.

(Querist) 29 June 2015 This query is : Resolved
Due to technical issues, there has been almost no supply of water by respective Water Board for more than 6 months in our society in Ambernath, Maharashtra - 421501. All flat owners were trying their best to get the water facility restored, but all went in vain. I stay in the ground floor of my building, in which I have a small gardening space, where I had installed 2 numbers sintex storage tanks and started purchasing water through tankers. At doing this, my problem was sorted out, though it had been expensive, still me and my family started getting water continuously.
Recently the society planned to purchase water through tankers only on 2 days in a week, for which they started collecting contribution from each flat of the building, which has been over and above the monthly maintenance charges.
I informed the society that I can join them only if they restore adequacy of water on all days in a week, in other words, I told them to procure water through tankers on more numbers of days, rather than purchasing the same only on 2 days in a week, so that it becomes adequate and normalcy restores. I told them that the water, which society would provide should be enough, so that I can stop purchasing separately. But, they emphasized that they would purchase only on 2 days and I must join them and for meeting my requirement, if individual purchasing continue, then they are not bothered. My concern, if I need to continue purchasing, then the water, which I shall purchase would be enough for me and my family, then why should I contribute for society's tankers, which I don't need. Please advice.

you did not rightly behave as a member of the group f members.
you really forgot and is in breach of coop regulations.

need to put up a right kind of fight against builders or the government set up that shows none seem to follow any code of conduct under coop societies movement.

when you get water through out week normally by your own arrangement or partial arrangement of building, there is no shortage of water.

your own arrangement has nothing to do with the building members as you never did bother to work with members.

in the present circumstances either pay your share to the building or simply say you do not need the building supplying water, but however you are in a society as a part you need to pay your equal share though you might not consume water supplied by the society.

your present claiming is not standing on four legs of the concept of cooperative movement.

any way all of you put up your common fight against govt water supply , till that issue is settled you would be behaving as a normal member under cooperative norms is my advice.

There are no legal issues involved; only that you are too concerned about yourself and your family when the society is facing a common crisis. Resolution of any and every crisis calls for sacrifice from every individual for the common good.

The society should go to court to order municipality for immediately releasing normal water supply.

You should cooperate with the society and any deficient supply should be made good personally.

not able to explain the problem.

please meet local lawyer.

why for all the six months society is not filing writ mandamus in high court and is opting for more expensive option. This way municipality will never supply water to you under the influence of tanker owners.
