RESPECTED SIR/MADAM, IN THE SOCIETY WE LIVE IN CURRENTLY IS NEWLY SLUM REDEVELOPMENT. AS FAR AS WE KNOW ITS ILLEGAL TO RENT OR SELL FLATS FOR 10 YEARS, BUT PEOPLE THERE DO RENT AND SELL HOMES. THE SOCIETY COMMITTEE CHARGE EXTRA MAINTENANCE FOR THOSE WHO RENT OUT AND ALLOW THEM TO SELL.IS IT OK FOR SOCIETY TO DO SO? WE DON'T LIKE OUR SOCIETY IS FILLED WITH UNKNOWN PEOPLE AND FEW CRIMINAL LIKE PEOPLE ARE NOW MOVED IN NOW WE FEEL UNSAFE. WHAT ACTION SHALL BE TAKEN AGAINST SOCIETY.CAN WE MAKE A COMPLAINT AGAINST IT OR FILE ANY CASE? PLEASE ADVICE, THANKING YOU.

these projects are for the upliftment and re-habitation of the poor and needy people.. i think the property holders in such schemes are not allowed to rent out or sell the property. Contact the concern govt authority.

Go through the conditions of redevelopment and bye laws of the society. If any condition is not followed, lodge complaint with the registrar of societies.

The terms and conditions of allotment will prevail over the society rules/bye-laws. If the allottee is not allowed to rent out or sell the plot/flat/house, the allottee can be booked by the authorities for violating the conditions of allotment.
The Society do not have any authority/ locus to charge extra maintenance from the allttee's who are engaged in illegal work and regularise their offence.
Consult a local lawyer for proper guidance and proceeding.
