Rent agrement

Hello,

I have shifted to new property on rent and need to get the Rent Agreement. One of my friend said as per new law the minimum Stamp paper required for the agreement is of Rs. 500.

Please help with the information.

In WB rent agreement need not be registered. A Rs 50/- stamp paper would do.

This is too much of tax government is charging, god knows what they do of this tax money.

Stamp duty in maximum States is Rs. 500/- for Rent Agreement.
