Time taken for case to finish

Dear Experts,
How much time does it take for a section 307 case to get over? I know there is no standard time to get over but in your vast experience, what is the minimum real average time taken to finish the case. I do not wish the case to get over soon so need your opinion. The police told us it takes 4-5 years.

depends upon pendency of cases in concerned court .

Time told by police may extend 1-2 years due to many circumstances like evidences not coming, Judge may on leave on the date of hearing and so many other factors.
