Encumbrance Certificate for Loan Transfer

(Querist) 17 February 2011 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

I am having a property in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. My property is mortgaged in SBI. Now I intend to transfer the Home Loan from SBI to my employer company. Apart form other documents, the law department of my company requires "No Encumbrance Certificate". I went to Sub-Registrar Office at Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar both. But no one seems to be aware of "EC". They say that no such certificate is given in whole state of Gujarat. Without this certificate Loan Transfer is impossible.
I request to please guide me how to obtain "EC" from the said offices.

Regards
Ashish Gupta

It is strange !
Fill Up EC Application form -for EC and submit for Encumbrances Certificate !

Better keep the loan at SBI and resort to regular repayments as it has no relevence to your employer as long as it is extended as security to loans raised out of your employment

Dear Sirs,

Thanks for your guidance. Can you please forward me the standard format on which I need to apply for EC. Till now I have only written an application for that.
Mr. Parthasarathi, Loan transfer from SBI to my company is very important to me as the interest will be "simple interest". It will save me money.

Thanks for all your precious time.

Regards
Ashish
