Divorce in family court but marriage as per shia law

(Querist) 11 March 2011 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sirs,
I have been very happy with all your responses.
One major issue which I wanted to discuss was that My wife and me were married as the shia law act and had registered the same.
She has filed a divorce petition in the family court under section 125. Is that the right thing.
Regards

She did not file a case for divorce u/s 125 , rather it is case for maintenance and she could do it rightly.
Advocate Bhartesh goyal (Expert) 11 March 2011
The case filed by your wife is not get the decree of divorce but to get the maintenance.
