this is non-bailable, so its not comes compoundable.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 31 March 2011
Dear Mr Ali, pls have a look in the Act again.
The DV Act is a provision under which the case is filed is of quasi criminal nature. This case can be withdrawn at any time the complainant wishes. The withdrawn does not give rise to any question of compounding. The compounding happens only when there is a commission of offence which is not a case under DV Act.
The offence under DV Act occurs only when there is violation of any specific order of the court under this Act.
Sarvesh Kumar Sharma Advocate (Expert) 31 March 2011
fully agry of this view that.....
This case can be withdrawn at any time .
in a metrimonial dispute every court wants settlement !and when there is no hope of settlement then other prosses is begin!

Both civil and criminal proceedings are there. If parties are willing to settle the matter ,then a memo can be file before the court.
