Stamp Paper for Land Registration

Dear Experts

I have deal for a agriculture land in Haryana and I am also resident of Haryana. I have purchased Stamp Paper for Registration for Rs. 150000/- Aprox. but due to some problem registery could not be done. Now I have blank Stamp Paper of Rs. 150000/-. So please advise me that the said stamp paper can be return back, if yes than what the procedure and how amount much I will get back.

Further also advise if I want to use in Haryana in different tehsil so Can I? and What is the time limit for their validation?

Yes,It will be refunded by the stamp duty office.

The original stamp paper is returned alongwith the application. On receipt of such application, the concerned authorities are empowered to refund the value of stamp duty after deducting such amounts as may prescribed.

As per Section 54 of the Indian Stamp act, the Stamps can be returned, if the said stamp papers are not required for immediate use of the person. The conditions are:
(i) the stamps should have been purchased with a bona fide intention to use them;
(ii) full price of the stamp papers should have been paid;
(iii) should have been purchased within 6 months prior to the date on which it is being submitted to the Collector concerned, for refund.
(iv) the stamp papers should not have been spoiled or rendered unfit or useless;


If the Collector is satisfied that the above conditions have been fulfilled, then the he will order refund of the money, after deducting 10% (i.e. 10 naya paise per rupee).
