steps if wife absent final day in court for mutual divorce

dear sir,
my relative's divorce case filed 6 months back, it is of mutual consent. afte 6 months their final hearing is in court is on 27 july. but now his wife family is demanding 4 lakhs to attend final hearing in court. otherwise she (wife) is decided to absent court hearing. husband is ready to pay maintanace as per judgement. even she is demanding etra money. sir court will give another chance to them? if wife absent to court what steps will take court ?
will judge give another chance or cancel the mutual consent?

Usually another chance is given.The court can either issue summons on the wife or direct her to show cause as to why the decree of divorce will not be passed in her absence.If she still chooses to stay away, the court may pass an ex-parte decree.

Yes you could postpone the case for 18 months from the date of filing but that too only if the wifes side does not oppose your prayer for adjournment.
