Father's property

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 09 September 2011 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I stay in my father's house & my father is still alive. Now due to various family conflicts, Can I ask for a share of my fathers property to move out. I have helped my brother & father in the same building with finance for expansion, renovation & further construction on the same building. Am I legally eligible to ask my father for part of his property. My father says that he shall not give me anything in his property. The property is in my fathers name.
Kindly advice.

Since the property is your father's self earned property, nobody can ask for any share from the same. Therefore, you cannot claim/demand any share from his property. Your father is well within his legal rights when he says that he shall not give anything to you from his property.
