I would like to differ with all the experts with the following reason:

According to the Times of India Report, dated 28th February 2011, the Telcos retain such records only for 6 months, while the Intelligence Agencies want the Department of Telecom to issue new rules making it mandatory for all mobile phone companies and internet service providers to retain their customers' online data for a minimum period of 12 months, raising privacy concerns.
