Hi,
I am a resident of Mumbai and we have purchased a piece of agricultural land in Uttan (Bhayander)2 yrs back the 7/12 abstract is still not transferred in our name. The reason being we are not farmers or we do not have an existing agricultural plot.
My ancestors were originally from Bhayander (Mumbai) and were farmers we have an old 7/12 abstract that states they were farmers but the current status of that 7/12 abstract is NA plot and that does not belong to us any longer.
I have been struggling hard to get this 7/12 abstract transferred in our name constantly visiting to talati office in Uttan and the officer generally puts down our request.
Can somebody please help me out on how I need to approach this situation or any lawyer of that area who could help me in this process.

As per your old 7/12 extracts, you can claim as an agriculturist. The legal heirs of agriculturists are also farmers though their agricultural property may not be existing as on day. You engage a lawyer and move ahead.

You should seek the help of a competent revenue lawyer there.

Dear Sir,
Can you please recommend a few more lawyers, the two mentioed above seem to be tied up with a lot of work so may not be able to take up my issue.
Since Uttan falls under Bhayander, Thane district a lawyer from that area would only be able to help I guess.
