An anonymous complaint alleging false corruption charges is sent to govt.Govt,in routine,send it to lower staff for report,making it public.Later complainant is found fictious.But many people comes to know about false corruption complaint.Concerning offficer reputation gets damaged due to public enquiry of anonymous complaint.Can officer seek defamation proceeding against careless officer of govt who without verifying anything,sent it to lower staff for enquirt and that too in a public manner.

defamation proceedings take years before a verdict is passed .

you can request the careless officer to issue a clarification and circulate it among lower staff that complaint was found to be false and baseless .
