Validity of stamp paper after execution is 6 months but before execution it is valid for life/ever.

Indian Stamp Act does not prescribe any time limit for utilisation of a stamp paper.
But, there are specific provisions in the State Acts (as mentioned by Mr. Ajay Sethi) which restrict the time period for utilisation of the stamp paper. Therefore, one has to consult the State law.
The stamp paper if used and executed and required to be registered, then registration should be got done within 4 months from the date of execution.

In Mah State, one must use it within 6 months from the date of purchase.
Once sealed signed and delivered, i e, used, it is valid for lifetime.
Blank stamp papers are not valid Lifetime in Mah State. One cannot use it at any time he so wish.same is the rule with Court fees in Mah State.
Few State only put Rubber Stamp,on Court Fee Stamp without date, and it can be used without limitation.
I learn this week, when H.P, and Jharkhand lawyers stated, they use Stamp Paper Lifetime & there is no limitation .
That can lead to fraud .
In Mah State now a purchaser only had to use it, and cannot use for others, and he also have to specify purpose, and details of Documents he intend to use the Stamp Paper. It started recently in last two months.
This will prevent forgery, taking someone's signature and keeping blank, and use after many years without hos knowledge. etc.

There is no limitation of stamp paper in Haryana, HP, Jharkhand, Punjab etc. The purchaser can only use the stamp paper, it is true everywhere. The cause of purchase is also required to be told.

Only in Maharashtra it is valid for 6 months from the date of sale, otherwise it is valid for life.
