A student secures engineering seat in 1992 by producing a fake income cum caste certificate. His father was a govt. employee but he dupes the institution by showing that he was a coolie earning daily wages equal to Rs. 4500/ pa. Also he claims to be a reservation category student while he actually belongs to Muslim(baig) community.
What is the effect of this suppression of fact to defraud the institution by paying less fee.

The very admission of such accused person can be treated as fradulant and thus all subsequent certificates may be got set aside but as a lot of time has elapsed, a lenient view may be taken by courts if all this is challenged.

The Engineering Degree has been given for qualifying in the Engineering Course. The Degree is not given for his true or false statement at the time of admission.
Therefore, it will have no effect on his degree that too at this belated stage.

The final degree will not be taken back.
The court may direct the student to repay the concession availed, by showing a false certificate.
There may be criminal prosecution also, the same was obtained fraudulently.
