Maintanence fee in apartment hiked

the newly formed flat owners society in hyderabad suburb hs hiked the monthly maintenance fee without informing all the concerned owners of the flats.
They have not informed to the current owner like me, why they have increased the maintence fee?
More over the building owner earlier taken the corpus fund for such maintenance works under post construction.
What way I can be getting the answer from current society president or committee member on why the maintenance fee hiked

You are paying to Society, not individual.
you can get the answer from current society president or committee member for all, if all apply jointly.
By electing them and appointing them as Mg committee, You authorize them for all power, including Mtn Charges.
Can you dictate what TAX, Parliament should levy on you?? I Tax, Service Tax ot vat??
You only have to PAY.

I do not agree with Shroff.
No authority though elected or otherwise has unrestricted or unchecked powers. Election doesn't mean that the elected body is not answerable to anyone?
A member of the society is well within his legal right to demand accounts from the elected body and may also ask about the reason for increasing maintenance charges and earlier corpus fund maintained for the purpose of maintenance.
You move an application and demand all the information with a copy to joint registrar and try to take some other owners with you for this purpose so that your voice may become loud.
