Admissability of multiple statement of accounts

(Querist) 05 April 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts,

Kindly advice me on the followin issue

My client were using DOS based system (old system) of accounts till 2009 and later on adopted window based (new system) of account from 2009 onwards.

one party use to place the material orders since 2007. In both the systems the transactions taken place. For material sold before 2009, payments were received under old system and materials sold after 2009 were entered under new system. Thus they created two accounts of single party.

How much these accounts are admissable in evidence?
Can a two statement of accounts can be maintained for single party?

Dear AKK,

Your query itself has the answer.Books of accounts of two diffrent periods are available, and you are showing separately.so,they can be submitted as evidences (1) and (2).

For pre 2009 transactions u have to rely on the old system as the new system may not have those entries. If the new system is having the old as wellas the new transactions, then better rely on the accounts maintained in the new system. What u have to ensure is that there is no discrepency in the entries made under the old and the new systems.
