sir, i asked an information from a reputed school 'St lawrance, Sanawar' in regards to a lease deed for its land between school authorities and Sanawar villagers.
it was a very old lease deed, the villagers does not have the copy of this deed now, this was agreed in the opening of the school, when britisher opened this school.
now the school does not want to renew the lease or not provinding copy of the old lease by saying that the school is not a public authority as such does not cover under RTI. section 2h or something.
what should we do now

If you are interested only in the laase deed you may have the same from the Tehsil office.
I also believe that if they do not want to whow the deed the villagers can collectively challange the ownership and they will have to produce the same. This does not appear to be easy path.

YOu can file an RTI to the state education department/ CBSE/ ICSE where the school is affiliated and gets grants from.

The school is private unaided but recently such schools have also been covered under RTI Act. Moreover, this is the right of the lessee to know the status of lesser which is claimed on the basis of lease deed.
Village should jointly send a legal notice to vacate the lease property within a short span of time failing which file a civil suit for eviction. School is bound to bring the alleged lease in light.
