can an old tenant paste nitco tiles on the exsisting old tiles.i am a tenant in an old property since 1960,my landlord is not giving permission and has said you do what you want to whatever is legally correct.and he has already filed a case on me seeking possession of the shop.
i spoke to the tiles dealer,he said once the new tiles are pasted and even after 20 years you remove them the old tiles wont get damaged

No. Such action is tampering. The opinion of tile dealer does not sound logic. How can you expect to remove a tile fixed by white cement without damaging the earlir tile. The landlort has givne you a bait to do something illegal so that his eviction matter gets tronger. You seem to be walking into his trap

As such, tiles available before 60 years and today have lots of quality difference.
You have to claim , tiles were in so bad condition & cracked, being outdated, old, and generating bacteria, virus, was health hazard in kitchen, .
So any improvement in Kitchen flooring & wall, of old structure used by you for 60 years, and will be used for many decade hereafter, it will not affect your tenancy.

If the landlord refuses to make necessary repairing works then the tenant can make such things.
But since the matter is litigated the tenant should take permission from the court to avoid any complications arising from the allegation of changing nature and character of the suit property.
