Society agm for election

Our society has 16 members out of which 3 members are out of country and 3 members are defaulters for not paying the maintainence.1 member has not completed the formalities after purchasing the flat.his documents are not clear that is why society has refused him as a member.
My querry is 16-7 =9 member Is it recomended to take Agm and go for electing a new committee.The current committe is working fine since last 5 years. what is the law for it.Is it necessary to take permission from cooperative society registrar to continue witout calling AGm/election.please advise.

fresh elctions are a must after completion of term of 5 years . you have to call for fresh election and follow procedure laid down by Cooperative Societies Act
