Marriage

(Querist) 07 December 2012 This query is : Resolved
i have inquired numbers of advocates at local court and even in zonal registere office for marriage registration, but all are saying that to register your marriage you have to pass through hindu marriage procedure as you are hindu.
my query is can't we do marriage without any religious rits or court order?

Dear Amy
without religious rites or court order you can not say Marriage, you can live together as live-in-relation. It is legal Now.

You should tel us which procedure do you want to adopt for your marriage so that we may provide our due opinion as asked by you.

Without marriage procedure one can register the marriage under Special Marriage Act.
For registration under Hindu Marriage Act one need to go through rituals.

I FULLY AGREE WITH
Shri Devajyoti Barman.

No need for rituals for Registered Marriage.

I TOO AGREE THAT NO FORMAL CEREMONIALS AND RITUALS ARE REQUIRED WHEN ONE OPTS TO REGISTER HIS/HER MARRIAGE UNDER SPECIAL MARRIAGE ACT.

thank you sir,
most of the time i have seen that girl and boy are going to married against the will of their parents so they dont have time to pass through the special marriage act rule.as in special marriage act one has to give 30 days notice to local police station then after they can solemnized marriage.
i dont have any personal case but in general i m asking that cant we get married only by registered marriage without any religious rits?
as you all respected experts have already answered in negative, i feel its unfair by law.
there should be a single, quick and legal procedure to get married.
