Final withdrawal of pf on retirement

(Querist) 09 February 2013 This query is : Resolved
I worked for an MNC from 1982 to 1994. After this I took up 3 different jobs, all of which kept me outside India. On my return I asked the MNC to allow me to withdraw my PF since I had crossed the age of 58.

Since a long time had elapsed, I did not have any records relating to my PF number. The company says they can't trace this account either and are unable to find the PF account number.

I filed an RTI with the PF department in Bandra and was told that I should approach the company only.

What should I do?

In the given case, you should personally visit the EPF department and should enquire about the coverage account of the company and then should find out form 2A & 3A for the years when you left the job which might be containing your no. therein.
