received a cheque from 'A' and deposited in bank, got returned mid of Feb2013 due to inactive account,then i approached 'A' for cash he initially agree to pay cash, but now he fail to do so, and i realize that he want to pass the month period from the date of cheque return ( Feb 15th ), due to time period i cant fill a case against him, now what can i do? shall i deposit the same cheque again? bec already got returned due to a/c closed. please advice how to proceed further.

It is not clear why A gave the cheque to you?
Have you got any proof that he has to pay the amount to you?
What is the amount of the cheque?
Please indicate. Then we will give you the solution.

As notice was not issued, you deposit cheque again {if within limitation period] and if it reboubce, immediately issue notice of demand .

he is the chit agent, am one of the investor, he has to repay my chit amount as i taken through chit auction,

You can try to lodge a complaint to police for fraud u/s 420 IPC.

Generally police do not lodge FIR in such cases so better to file a criminal complaint under section 420 IPC and a recovery suit against that chit agent. Due to 3 months validity of the cheque, you cannot deposit it again in your bank.
