1. Under S. 191 IPC any sworn statement to the Court containing falsehood which the maker knows to be false is giving false evidence.

2. You have to launch a criminal prosecution u/S. 191 r.w. S. 193 IPC.

3. You must be able to prove that the maker of the statement knew it to be false when he made it.

4. It is not necessary that the statement should be believed by the Court o that somebody suffered any loss.
