About joint secretary in regd.housing society

Pls advice if there can be joint secretary in a housing society? pls also suggest can he be a one of signatory on the cheques to be issued?

there is provision fr chairman secretary , treasurer . no such provision for joint secretary .

1. The Mg.Committee (MC) of a Society, can appoint one of the MC members itself, as Joint Secretary, (for administrative convienence only), and such joint secretary may also be delegated authority as "authorised signatory", for banking transactions, subject to majority decision and resolution of the MC.


2. Such post of Joint.Secretary, lawfully shall not constitute as a "office bearer" and shall have no relevance to have any authority of a Secretary, including no-signing authority on the Balance Sheet of the Society. Any committee member from the MC, can be appointed as the Joint Secretary, subject to "within" the strength of the total MC.
