Sirs,
Can you kindly inform us who are the executive magistrates in Tamil Nadu. Will the Deputy Collector / Deputy Supt of Police be executive magistrate.

Deputy Collector can be Executive magistrate but not DSP but state govt. has power to delegate EM power to DSP too by notification.

Section 20 Cr.P.C. (Executive Magistrates) :
In every District, the following Officers are appointed as Executive
Magistrates by the Government U/S 20 Cr.P.C.
1. Collector
2. Joint Collector
3. District Revenue Officer
4. Revenue Divisional officer
5. Tahsildar
The above Officers are appointed as Magistrates by virtue of the Offices held
by them as noted against each.
