after the 20 years of death of my grand mother my father refuse in written to take share and give his share to his brother from his property but he want to get back his share
is there any way to get back his share ?

Are you Hindu or Muslim ? please confirm,Muslim Civil law,succession are different from Hindu succession.So relinquish by your father shall govern by respective laws.

If you meant that your father has agreed in writing with his brother not to take share in properties left by his mother,then my answer is that if that 'written paper is registered' then your father can not now make any claim but if that is an unregistered document in writing then ignoring the same your father can claim.

Unless you father has given NOC on a registered document on payment if stamp duty, such wirtten undertaking has no legal force.
