Can I ask information regarding of VRS-2000 given by a nationalised bank bank in the year 2001, which is retrospective to the act. or in other words can a bank refuse to give details about my VRS-2ooo details stating that the RTI Act will not cover retrospective information?

you are applied now, so it will valid application on RTI, if he denied you can send appeal to appellate authority.

The stand taken by the bank is irrelevant. You can very well get the information of what is existing on the date of your application unless the records are officially destroyed.

The stand taken by the Bank is illegal and appeal need to be filed.
