Adoption

Hi,
My uncle was adopted in 1952 to another family and a adoption deed was executed then, but he still uses his genitive family name/surname instead of the adopted one. he has sold properties belonging to both families using both genitive and adopted names as and when required, is this legal ? can a person continue to use both names after adoption ?

If both the Parents had not denied him the Rights he could enjoy both.
