Road widening land remuneration conflicted by some other party in court

Hi,
I have a land owned, since the purchase about 7 years with one side facing the main road.
After the confirmation of road widening, government requested documents to declare the ownership. Which we did, and eventually Govt. gave some remuneration for the land owners, that can be received from another Court.
But, someone has raised a conflict and filed a disagreement, saying that they own the land and the remuneration should go to them.
Could you please let me know, the best way to deal with the situation. I guess, he is some kind of a rowdy sheeter.
We tried to reach out to him out of the court, but it did not help :-(

contact a local lawyer . if you have clear documents of title and document is duly stamped and registered you would get compensation . the issue as to who is bona fide owner of property will have to be decided before compensation awarded
