(Querist) 26 June 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear Advocates !

A person accepted Post Dated Cheque from his client before 6 months. That cheque was not CTS cheque. But, now, he wants to deposit the non-CTS cheque. But, his banker denies that cheque.

What is the remedy?
Parthasarathi Loganathan (Expert) 27 June 2014
Banker cannot deny non-cts cheques as RBI has allocated specific days in a week to present such cheques to the present banks.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 28 June 2014
Upon the bank's written rejection, the higher official of the bank or the banking ombudsman may be petitioned for redress of grievance or resort to legal course by first issuing lawyer's notice demanding the relief and then approach consumer forum for deficiency of service and compensation thereof.
