u cannot fix the time for police to take action against whom you have filed a complaint because they are police. They expects something from you, pay it and get your work done. YOu might be against paying the bribe but it is illegally legalised.

It may not be possible for a complainant to fix any time limit for the police to take action against the complaint.
If your complaint is not actioned within reasonable time, you can directly file a complaint before a Judicial Magistrate - a private complaint u/s 200 Cr. P.C and pray the court to try the offence and punish the accused.
In this complaint, you may mention that a complaint lodged with Police was not actioned, and enclose a copy of the complaint given to police. If you did not receive an acknowledgement from the police when you lodged a complaint, you may state so in your complaint.
If you have lodged the complaint recently or if you are proposing to lodge a complaint, I suggest you send a copy of the complaint by registered post acknowledgement due to have proof of lodging of complaint wiht the police.

Your quarry is confined just to know whether we can fix the time for the police for action in the complaint and its sole answer is no.
