Mistake in my name in pf account

Dear sir
In PF statement my name is not correctly mentioned. I asked my HR to change and they have rectified the name in Pay Slip, but PF statement still it shows the wrong name. and now HR is telling it is not possible to correct the name in PF statement. Just for your information I have given my data correctly at the time of joining.
Pls. advise me in this matter.

If the PF deducted from your salary is being deposited in some other persons account then it is called fraud..
Your company has to deposit again. EPFO do not have provision/ process / powers to change the destination of the remittance once reported in F 6A/3A.

Send request through your employer to EPFO for effecting necessary rectification in the name. Also enclose the copies of the documents originally sent from your side.

PF statement means whether it is given by your employer as internally maintained by the company or the EPFOffice wherein ultimately the PF amount credits to the account. If it is internally maintained, if the number is correct, you need not worry. If it is at EPFOffice, you will have to get it rectified with a joint request of you and your employer to EPFO.

Thanks to all for your valuable suggestions.
Here i would like to add that the mistakes is in the spelling of my name and surname.The mistake is lies in EPF Office as i noticed this mistake after downloading my PF statement from the EPF Portal.
Sir also pls suggest that is there any specified format or form is there for applying for correction in name.
Sir also the statement downloaded shows the PF balance upto Jan 14 only. How to know the full balance as on date. Till date iam continuing with same employer.

Your name in PF a/c should be correct even if PF is maintained by PF trust of the company or by EPFO.
From your query it is guessed that PF a/c is with EPFO.
You have submitted correct details. Acquire a copy. If you do not have a copy demand it in writing from designated HR personnel and if it is not supplied escalate to good offices of appointing authority, MD.
If you have copies keep it safely.
Submit a gentle representation addressed to good offices of appointing authority, MD (attaché a copy of your record or demand it) and conclude that you have made representations to Mr/Ms………………….on dated…………………..and the errors posted by company in PF a/c are not corrected by company till date………………………………….and company has not provided you the PF number of PF a/c opened with your correct name.
The PF a/c number with your correct name be supplied to you along with PF a/c slips of all years of employment by Redg. Post.
You can also raise a query on employee's+Employer's contributions piad after Jan14.
If the resolution is not provided by the company lodge a representation thru RPFC in nearest PF office or Trustees of PF trust, under proper acknowledgment.

Visit EPF Office and discuss the procedure for correction of name and ascertain whether any specific format is there.
As regards the updation upto January in the downloaded statement there are two possibilities:
1) The EPF Office might not have updated the accounts though the remittance is received from the employer.
2) Employer might not have remitted the PF though it was deducted from your salary. In cases it so happens they delay the remittance.
The reason also can be ascertain from EPF Office.

Since he has stated nothing about spelling of names in Form 3A/6A submitted by the employer I and not able to agree or decreeing with view of any of the learned experts above.
employer must have also submitted Form 5A and 2A. He has to see all of these.

1. Sir I have to transfer the PF account of my last three employer, so pls suggest it is wise to transfer now or have to transfer only after making all the correction.
2. I have updated my PAN Card and Adhaar Card in e-passbook of PF Account having the mistake in my name. So is it become helpful to change the name.

Where do you want to transfer the fund. You are vague on this count. Probably you want to transfer it into other PF account of yours to add pensionable [period. This is legal and advisable.

First of all please be clear:-
(I) HAVE YOU CHECKED UP WITH EPFO AS TO WHETHER AT ALL THEY HAVE A PROVISION TO CORRECT THE NAME.
If law allows such provision then many unscrupulous employers can deprive PF benefits to genuine employee by changing name.
(II) HAVE YOU CHECKED UP WITH EPFO THAT WHETHER THEY WILL ALLOW TRANSFER OF DEPOSITS OF "Y" ACCOUNT TO "X" ACCOUNT WHEN THE NAME IS NOT THE SAME.
(III) HAVE YOU CHECKED UP FROM YOUR BANK WHETHER THEY WILL RECEIVE THE FUNDS IN YOUR ACCOUNT IF THE NAME STATED IN NIFT TRANSFER IS NOT SAME.
