You can lodge the complaint etc., as you wish.
But those steps will not save you in case your signed cheque is presented by any one after filling his name, date and amount.

YOU WILL BE PAYING FOR YOUR SIN OF HAVING KEPT A "SIGNED" BLANK CHEQUE.

Sir,
There is no way to become safe from these lost cheques, there maybe some legal way to be safe from the liability of these cheques. What if after giving lost report to bank i closed the account. Plz help me by suggesting a legal way to be dealt with this issue.

Sir,

Is there any way to be safe from lost signed cheques, if someone presented it for payment, for that what will i do. Plz suggest me the possible way to declare these lost cheques as invalid.

You have posted that:

"is it enough for declare these cheques as invalid and instruct bank not to bounce these cheques if presented for payment,"

The purpose in conflicting.

Even if a cheque is returned unpaid and you receive notice to pay, you can pay if you really owe the money.

You need to check with your bankers if it can put remarks like lost Cheque instead of 'stop payment or fund insufficient..............'

Sir, obiviously i have not take any money, if i have not take any money from any one, and if somebody send me notice saying falsely that i have taken cash from them, (as it happens with my friend father, his servant stolen his chq and gave to his close rival in business and he bounced the chq and send notice to him saying he has taken vash money of 5lakh and gave him a post dated chq) in that case what i would do, how would i prove in court that i have not taken any money, thats why i am asking is there any possible way to declare my lost chq as invalid for use, either with the help of bank or any other method. As u say i have to ask bank to put remarks as lost cheques, but if it bounced outside my city then is it possible for the bank to pur this remarks. I am in deep confusion and trouble about this issue, plz suggest me a way by which i will be safe from problem.

Dear Author,Your Problem Could be made Simple by the Way you handle It.Just give a Detailed Letter to Bank regarding the Cheques Lost and Stop Payment Request to Bank and Simultaneuosly If you are Particular Submit a Complaint regarding the same to your Police Station and Collect Acknowledgements and Do Not Worry you would be Safe.
Guddu (Querist) 09 August 2015
Dear Rajkumar Sir,

Thanks for your advise, if i register a police complain regarding cheque lost, it will be safe for me, and if bank will do stop payment and in future someone presented that lost chq for payment bank will definitely return it with remark of stop payment and now a days stop paymnet will come under NI Act cases. if bank will remarked these chqs as lost chqs then it will be ok or not. If is it ok then I will file a police complaint of lost chqs and give application in bank to remark these chqs as lost chqs and inform me when presented for payment. Or should I close the account after filing police complaint.

NI Act Cases can not be Filed Just Like that with out Valid Legal Evidence/Proofs.If it is done like that it would be a Criminal Offence.Submit Letter to Banks Regarding Cheques Lost and Stop Payments. If you Wish You Could Close the Bank A/C after at least 30 Days of Submitting the Letter to the Bank.It is quite common Now days like Theft and Missing of Articles.File a Police Complaint so that you would be more safe.Do Not worry.
Guddu (Querist) 10 August 2015
Sir can i file a lost article information in police and give it to bank along with stop payment letter, or should i file some other report in police about my lost cheques.
Guest (Expert) 10 August 2015
These are all Simple things.Submit a Complaint to Police relating to Loss of Cheque Book along with what ever you had Lost and Obtain the Receipts Like FIR Or CSR Etc Along with it on the Same Day Submit a Letter to The Bank Regarding Cheques Lost and Stop Payment For any MisUse.Obtain Acknowledgements for the Same.
